Here at Vartan, we are big fans of the beautiful fabric that is linen. We produce all of our products out of it – and there’s good reason why.
Linen is one of the oldest fabrics that the modern world uses today. It is made from the flax plant, a long reed-like-plant, making it an easy to be spun into thread.
Although linen has a delicate, elegant touch and appearance, the fibers are incredibly strong. It is twice as strong as cotton, hand-washable or dry-cleanable, and great for absorbing dyes and prints.
When working with linen we appreciate the nature of this woven fabric, we observe how the fibers react with the dyes and how the cloth takes on new forms of life as we sew and produce our wonderful product!
